MICHELE DEBRULER, COUNCILWOMAN, DISTRICT VII, is a longtime resident of St. Charles Parish, residing in Luling for over 25 years.  She is married to William deBruler III, and they are the proud parents of two daughters Elise deBruler Agostinelli and Gabie deBruler.  They recently became first time grandparents with the birth of Abigail Claire Agostinelli in December.

Michele is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education; holds a Master of Arts from Xavier University of Louisiana in Administration and Supervision; and earned 30+ hours from Southeastern Louisiana University.  She retired in 2022, after 33 years as an educator, having served 25 years as a school administrator in the St. Charles Parish Public School System.  Michele was recognized as both a Teacher of the Year, Administrative Support Employee of the Year and as a Principal of the Year. 

Since June 2022, Michele served on the St. Charles Parish Planning and Zoning Commission.  She currently serves as Vice President of the St. Charles Parish Republican Women’s organization, is a member of the St. Charles Parish Rotary, St. Charles Women’s Club, the Louisiana and St. Charles Parish Retired Teacher Associations and the Elenian Club.

She is a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she has previously served two years on the Advisory Board, one year on the Financial Board and as a Catechist.

Michele is a member of the Special Projects/Public Safety, Health and Environmental Committee; Operations, Maintenance and Construction Management Committee; Legislative Committee; Contract/Finance and Administrative Committee; and Hurricane Protection Projects Committee.

She is currently serving as a member of the Sunset Drainage District-Board of Commissioners; an Ex-Officio member of the St. Charles Parish Housing Authority; a member of the Community Action Advisory Board; and a member of the 2024 Overall LSU AgCenter Advisory Leadership Council (ALC).

Michele is a member of the Louisiana Police Jury Association, the National Association of County Officials, and NACo’s Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee.
