Lakewood Drive Construction Town Hall Presentation | 5-09-23

Beginning Monday, October 30, NO traffic from Hwy 90 will be able to enter Lakewood Drive.

Lakewood Drive will be Northbound only from Birch Street to Highway 90.

Residents needing to access the library will need to enter Lakewood Drive from Birch St and travel Northbound.

UPDATE: Monday, October 23, 2023

 Northbound Traffic Only

Effective this evening at midnight, all traffic on Lakewood Drive between Heather Drive and Hwy 90 will only be permitted in the northbound direction, towards Hwy 90. As a reminder, Lakewood Drive is only open for local traffic and all other residents should utilize the detour of Willowdale Blvd.

Beginning Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 2 am, 500 yards of concrete will be poured. The Parish is working with the contractor, Sheriff’s Office, and School Board to accommodate busses and residents living along the corridor currently under construction. 

Tuesday, August 1, 2023

• Byron Talbot Contractor, Inc. is now working between Texaco Road and Birch Street.
• Curbs for the section between Heather Drive and Texaco Road have been poured.
• When signal crews are not onsite to direct traffic, Heather Drive traffic is not allowed to travel northbound on Lakewood Drive. Lakewood Drive is southbound ONLY when crews are not onsite.
• Water Line relocation is suspended until Thanksgiving or Christmas Break to allow for School Buses to access the road while school is in session. 

Thursday, July 6, 7am - 4:30pm.

The intersection of East Heather and Lakewood Dr will be closed.
Detours: 

• Lakewood South and Lakewood Estates: residents and responding units will use Sofia Drive and Olivia Drive to East Heather Drive to Willowdale Blvd.
• Lakewood East: residents and responding units will use East Heather Drive to Willowdale Blvd
• All West Heather Drive: residents will enter and exit via Mimosa Park
• Lakewood Drive North of East Heather should use Hwy 90 or Birch Street
