MONTHLY PARISH TALK SHOW DEBUTS ON GOVERNMENT ACCESS CHANNEL

Post Date:May 12, 2010
Government Access Channel 6 is now featuring a new parish talk show.

"St. Charles Parish Today" takes viewers inside parish government and the month’s hot topics. It can be seen at 5 p.m. daily on Channel 6 for Cox cable customers unless pre-empted by a live public meeting.

Topics this month include the ongoing parish road maintenance program, recreation summer camp and a tour of the new east regional library branch in Destrehan.

Public Information Officer Renee Allemand Simpson hosts and produces the show.

Guests on the debut episode are Parks and Recreation Director Duane Foret, Assistant Director Theresa Theriot, Public Works Engineer Lee Zeringue and library staff members Robin Bourgeois and Chase Chauffe.

Public Information Assistant Dwan Pitre serves as assistant producer, and Public Information Videographer Melanie Worrall produces and edits the show. The show is filmed in-studio at the Satellite Center in Luling with generous support from Albert Dupont and the Center’s student staffers.

To watch the 24-minute show online or suggest discussion topics for future shows, visit stcharlesparish-la.gov/scptoday. A new edition will air during the beginning of each month.

Tentative topics for the June edition include mosquito control and man-on-the-street interviews from Relay For Life of St. Charles Parish 2010.

The mission of St. Charles Parish government is to provide high quality, efficient services to sustain and enhance the quality of life for all residents of St. Charles Parish.
